We’ve said it before that walking tours are our favorite way to get to know a new city. Group and guided tours are fantastic, but we’re pretty DIY here, so self-guided tours top our list. Our go-to app as soon as we arrive at a new destination? GPSMyCity.

What is GPSmyCity?

Imagine if you had your own personal tour guide, right in your phone. GPSmyCity is that guide, taking travel articles like the ones we write and turning them into GPS-guided walking tours. Downloaded articles live directly on your phone for offline use. This means no worries about data usage or a wifi connection while you explore!*
Get detailed maps and turn-by-turn directions. Your app will show you exactly where you are with a blue dot, just like you’re used to seeing on your favorite driving directions app. Then from there it will direct you to your next stop on the tour.
Explore at your own pace! Sites like GetYourGuide and Viator are great for booking group tours and guides, but if you want freedom from schedules and other people’s agendas, we think GPSmyCity is the way to go!
